My Story: My Dementia Care Experience
Hi my name is Hazel and for 31 years, I have worked in care and throughout my career I have worked closely with people living with dementia and the families who support them. Over those years, I have seen first hand the many challenges dementia can bring, and how difficult and overwhelming it can feel for families trying to understand what is happening and what to do next.
I hold Level 2 and 3 qualifications in Dementia Care, along with a level 3 Award in Education and Teaching. My experience has given me a strong understanding of dementia, the challenges it can bring, and the importance of clear, compassionate and person centred support.
After many years of working in care, I wanted to use my experience in a different way, by supporting the families who are navigating dementia alongside their loved ones. I believe families need somewhere they can turn for honest, practical guidance and someone who will take the time to listen.
My aim is to give you that space. Whether you have a loved one who has been diagnosed, are struggling with changes in behaviour or communication, or simply don't know what to do next, i can help you make sense of things and find a way forward that feels right for your family.
You don't have to navigate dementia alone. I'm here to listen, guide you and help you feel more confident and less alone about the journey ahead.
